ERP-Trends

The Trovarit ERP Study 2026 has been launched—and offers valuable insights into the future of ERP systems.

The Trovarit study “ERP in Practice” is entering a new round. For over 20 years, it has provided one of the most in-depth insights into the actual use, satisfaction, and further development of ERP systems in German-speaking countries. In 2026, companies are once again being called upon to share their experiences—and thereby contribute to transparency in the ERP market.

However, this new round of the study is more than just a status report. It comes at a time when many companies are fundamentally reevaluating their ERP strategies. Between cloud transformation, increasing integration requirements, and the growing influence of artificial intelligence, the market is facing a significant shift.

Why it's worth it for companies to participate

The analysis not only provides a concise overview of key market trends but, more importantly, offers an assessment of a company’s own ERP implementation. Companies have the opportunity to compare their satisfaction levels, challenges, and objectives with those of other organizations.

Especially in times when ERP systems are increasingly becoming the strategic backbone of the IT landscape, this benchmarking is a decisive advantage. In addition, participants benefit from additional analyses and can identify concrete starting points for optimizing their own systems.

Review: Stable systems—but weaknesses in the details

A look at the latest survey reveals an overall stable picture. ERP systems received an average rating of 1.8 from users and thus continue to play a key role in managing core business processes.

At the same time, the results highlight familiar weaknesses that have persisted over the years:

  • Service and support received lower ratings than before
  • Performance remains a recurring issue
  • Mobile usage often falls short of expectations
  • Documentation and updates continue to be a source of dissatisfaction

What is particularly striking is that while the software itself often receives good reviews, shortcomings are evident primarily in customer support and day-to-day operations.

Why the 2026 study will be particularly exciting

The upcoming round of studies is likely to be significantly more dynamic than previous ones. The reason: The ERP market is at a turning point.

Many companies are currently facing fundamental decisions:

  • Cloud vs. On-Premise: Migration or Continued Operation?
  • Standardization vs. Customization: How Much Flexibility Makes Sense?
  • Best-of-Breed vs. Integrated Platforms: How Complex Should the System Landscape Become?

At the same time, new technologies are gaining in importance. In particular, the use of artificial intelligence in the ERP environment—for example, in automation, master data management, or decision support—is likely to play an even greater role in the current study than it has in the past.

The key question, therefore, is: How well are existing ERP systems prepared to meet these requirements?

Looking Ahead: The Key Questions Now

Participating in the study can be a good opportunity for companies to take a critical look at their own use of ERP systems. The focus is primarily on the following questions:

  • How future-proof is our current ERP strategy?
  • Are we technologically ready for trends like AI and automation?
  • How well do support, updates, and further development work in practice?
  • Does our system support our processes—or is it increasingly hindering them?

Conclusion: More than just a survey

The Trovarit 2026 Study is far more than a traditional market survey. It offers companies the opportunity to evaluate and contextualize their own ERP usage within the context of a rapidly changing market.

Especially now, when many organizations are facing strategic decisions, this perspective can be crucial.

Participation is therefore not only a way to provide feedback to the market, but above all an investment in assessing your own current position.
